Welcome to Southwest Road Racing Website. In 2022, local road racing enthusiasts from Athea, Abbeyfeale, Newcastlewest and Listowel formed a new club to resurrect this event. The result is South West Road Racing Athea.
A weekend of spectacular motorcycle road racing is planned on the closed public road (circuit), surrounding the village of Athea, Co. Limerick in Southwest Ireland. New and returning fans of motorcycle road racing are all welcome from Limerick, Ireland and overseas. The first event is planned for 2024.
An internationally renowned weeklong festival of motorcycling interests is planned to range from vintage and classic vehicle appreciation to the most up-to-date prestigious modern motorcycle racing machinery.
Southwest Road Racing 2024
Unfortunately our race is not going ahead in 2023. We hope to run our major event on the August Bank Holiday 2024.
